Two sandpits. Same size. Same photo. Very different price. Why?
Most buyers focus on what they can see — dimensions, color, finish.
But the real difference is inside the wood, and it shows up after
delivery, not before.
In this video, we explain the key material factors that separate a
quality sandpit from a low-cost one that leads to complaints and returns.
Core Material: MDF vs Chipboard
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is denser and more structurally stable.
It holds screws better, resists warping, and performs more consistently
over time. Chipboard costs less to produce — but the core is weaker,
and under stress or moisture exposure, that weakness shows.
Density: You Can't See It, But You'll Feel It
Two boards can look identical at the same thickness. But higher density
means more material compressed inside. That translates directly into
strength, stability, and long-term durability. It's invisible in product
photos — but your customers will feel the difference when they assemble
the product or use it through a season.
Thickness: Where Returns Begin
Thinner boards flex and bend under pressure. Thicker boards hold their
shape. This is often where the first complaints start — boards that bow,
joints that loosen, products that don't hold up after a few months of
outdoor use.
Our Approach
Before we quote, we check both thickness and density based on your
target market and price point. Whether you're supplying to a budget
retail channel or a premium outdoor lifestyle brand, we help you source
the right spec — so the product performs the way your customers expect.
That's what separates a good supplier from a cheap one.
